Basketball Recap: Animo Venice Pirates vs. Animo Watts Warriors
Animo Venice fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Animo Watts on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 76-75 to the Animo Watts Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (73), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rashad Johnson, who went 11 of 27 on his way to 33 points and five boards. Johnson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jakari Devore also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Even though they lost, Animo Venice was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Animo Watts only racked up 11 assists.
Johntae Forshae continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Animo Watts, shooting 6-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. Forshae is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jahari Fisher, who posted 11 points and three steals.
The loss snapped Animo Venice's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-12 record. As for Animo Watts, their record is now 12-3.
Animo Venice does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Animo Watts has also already played their next match, an 85-31 victory against Burton on the 6th.
