Softball Recap: Princeton Drops Season-High Score on Goldsboro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They blew past the Goldsboro Cougars 24-9 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.

Princeton got a massive performance out of Alyvia Bleigh, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Bleigh a new career-high. Kaylee Mitchell was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The win got Princeton back to even at 7-7. As for Goldsboro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will venture away from home to take on Spring Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goldsboro, they will square off against Farmville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
