Basketball Recap: Gateway Christian Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Gateway Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 59-14 loss at the hands of the Tidewater Academy Warriors. Gateway Christian has struggled against Tidewater Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Gateway Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Broadwater Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Tidewater Academy, they will take on Pungo Christian Academy in a tournament on Friday.
