Baseball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sheridan's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Tri-Valley Scotties on Tuesday. The Generals have struggled against the Scotties recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

James Solomon was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles.

Sheridan's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Tri-Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheridan will host West Muskingum at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Tri-Valley, they will welcome New Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.9 runs per game on average), something the Scotties will no doubt try to take advantage of.
