Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Arapahoe Warriors

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans and the Arapahoe Warriors will face off at 3:30 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Thomas Jefferson will be strutting in after a victory while Arapahoe will be coming in after a defeat.

Thomas Jefferson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 85-58 victory over Columbine on the road. Given Thomas Jefferson's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Columbine is ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thomas Jefferson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Doren Sacha out in front who scored 17 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Sacha also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was William Perkins, who scored 22 points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, Arapahoe was the victim of a tough 58-34 defeat at the hands of Chaparral on Saturday. Arapahoe has struggled against Chaparral recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The win (which was Thomas Jefferson's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Arapahoe, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
