Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Find Success

Victory Christian Academy's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They skirted past the Bartow Yellow Jackets 5-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Storm as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Landon Cuzzone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Collin Strickland was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Nate Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Victory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Bartow, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Victory Christian Academy will square off against Oasis Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bartow, they will take on Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dreadnaughts will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
