Basketball Recap: Martin Luther Piles Up the Points Against Renaissance

Martin Luther won the last time they faced Renaissance and things went their way on Saturday too. The Martin Luther Cougars breezed by the Renaissance Knights to the tune of 86-46. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season.

Martin Luther's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kris Skibola, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points and four steals. The matchup was Skibola's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds.

Martin Luther now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Renaissance, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Martin Luther and Leman Manhattan Prep will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:45 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Renaissance, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sinatra at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
