Softball Game Preview: Colfax Falcons vs. Mira Loma Matadors

The Colfax Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Mira Loma Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colfax will be strutting in after a victory while Mira Loma will be coming in after a defeat.

Colfax will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Marysville on Wednesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 11-4 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Colfax got a massive performance out of Kalli Amaral, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Amaral a new career-high. Chloe Slack was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Mira Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-2 to Lincoln.

Mira Loma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Colfax, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Colfax took their victory against Mira Loma in their previous meeting last Monday by a conclusive 16-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
