Recap: Gilbert Indians vs. Columbia Capitals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orangeburg Prep, the Gilbert Indians were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They breezed by Columbia on the road to the tune of 66-15. This was payback for Gilbert, who suffered a 58-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Among those leading the charge was Ahleira Leaphart, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 steals. Another player making a difference was Anabel Godfrey, who scored 18 points along with 5 steals.
The victory got Gilbert back to even at 1-1. As for Columbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will take on Irmo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against C.A. Johnson at 6:00 p.m.
