Baseball Recap: Leakey Comes Up Short

Leakey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-1 to the Medina Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 8-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Leakey saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Salazar, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Kellan Hidalgo was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

Leakey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Medina, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Leakey has already played their next match, an 8-6 loss against Center Point on the 1st. As for Medina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Knippa on the 1st.
