Football Recap: Springfield Spartans vs. Coventry Comets
Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 21-13 to the Coventry Comets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 15-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
A big part of Coventry's victory came down to the chemistry between Bryce White-Heldman and his top target Alex Meinen. White-Heldman threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns while Meinen picked up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Coventry, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7.
