Softball Recap: Buckeye Central's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Buckeye Central dropped their record down to 10-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Upper Sandusky Rams, falling 14-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucks of the 8-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Upper Sandusky, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

For Upper Sandusky's part, the team relied heavily on Madison Wengerd, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Wengerd a new career-high. Madison Hart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

While Buckeye Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
