Basketball Recap: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Africentric Early College Nubians
The Marion-Franklin Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Africentric Early College, falling 93-3. While losing is never fun, Marion-Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 770th, while the Nubians are ranked 92nd).
Africentric Early College got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamryn Grant out in front who scored 16 points along with three steals. Natiah Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Marion-Franklin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Africentric Early College, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.
Marion-Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Africentric Early College will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on February 15th.
