Basketball Recap: Greene Central Falls Short of Southeast Alamance in the Playoffs

Greene Central and Southeast Alamance squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Greene Central had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 62-18 loss at the hands of the Southeast Alamance Stallions. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.

Southeast Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Lopez led the charge by putting up 12 points and five steals. That's the most steals Lopez has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Inysia McIver, who earned 12 points and five steals.

Greene Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Southeast Alamance, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Greene Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southeast Alamance, they will square off against West Craven on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (West Craven: 29.7, Southeast Alamance: 29.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
