Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Markesan). They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Fall River Pirates on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Markesan's third in a row) raised their record to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fall River, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Markesan will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
