Basketball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Hoover Tornados were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-56 to the Mesrobian Bulldogs. The Tornados have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nicholas Khatchikian continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mesrobian, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Khatchikian has scored at least a third of Mesrobian's points. Hakop Gyulvanesian was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Mesrobian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Hoover wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 82-33 loss against Pasadena on the 30th. As for Mesrobian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-22 victory against New Covenant Academy on the 29th.
