Basketball Game Preview: Gilford Golden Eagles vs. Conant Orioles

The Gilford Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Conant Orioles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gilford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: St. Thomas Aquinas, who was ranked tenth at the time (Gilford was ranked 23rd). Gilford came up short against St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, falling 69-47.

Meanwhile, Conant lost 63-39 to Campbell on Tuesday.

Conant's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Gilford, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

Gilford strolled past Conant in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gilford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
