Flag Football Recap: Ava Bogarin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rialto

It's playoff time, and San Gorgonio had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Rialto Knights by a score of 18-6 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 32-0 back in August.

San Gorgonio's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Bogarin led the charge by picking up 101 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards Bogarin has posted since back in August.

Another reason for the win was San Gorgonio's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leah Gonzalez refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by herself. Bogarin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win got San Gorgonio back to even at 12-12. As for Rialto, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-10.

Coming up, San Gorgonio will face off against Rancho Alamitos at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Vaqueros will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. Rialto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
