Basketball Game Preview: Dora Coyotes vs. Melrose Buffaloes

Dora and Melrose are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Dora Coyotes will face off against the Melrose Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dora has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight losses, while Melrose will come in with ten straight victories.

On Tuesday, Dora came up short against Gateway Christian and fell 48-37.

Meanwhile, Melrose was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Lake Arthur 54-13. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 35 points or more this season.

Melrose's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Dora, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Dora didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Melrose in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory. Will Dora repeat their success, or does Melrose have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
