Baseball Recap: Anthem Prep Wins Going Away Against Maryvale Prep

Anthem Prep's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Maryvale Prep Matador as the Anthem Prep Eagles made off with a 22-9 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jaxon MacHugh was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. What's more, he posted two stolen bases, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Daniels, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Anthem Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Anthem Prep's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Maryvale Prep, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Anthem Prep will challenge Bagdad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maryvale Prep, they will take on Sequoia Pathway Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
