Lyons had won ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 10-3 to make it 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Platte Valley Broncos a 5-0 shutout. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 27, 2021, but that streak is no more.

Gretta Wynja made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor Dickes was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luci Santesteban, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

As for Platte Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 27, 2021, but that streak is no more.

On Platte Valley's side, Alyssa Kendrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

Lyons has already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against University on the 18th. As for Platte Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-3 win against Weld Central on the 18th.
