Baseball Game Preview: Hollis Tigers vs. Cordell Blue Devils

The Hollis Tigers will face off against the Cordell Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Hollis had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Sayre put an end to it on Monday. The Tigers took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Klay Seddon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Cordell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Burns Flat-Dill City, falling 10-3.

Cordell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Briggs R, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Blane M also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hollis' loss dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Cordell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.

Everything went Hollis' way against Cordell when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Hollis made off with a 15-1 victory. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
