Volleyball Recap: Brainerd Comes Up Short

Brainerd lost against Monticello back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors came up short against the Magic, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since September 25th.

While Brainerd ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.

Keeley Gondringer paced Brainerd's offense, picking up seven kills. Gondringer got some help from Evelyn Hagen and her ten assists. Preslee Glynn controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Addison Biard was the offensive standout of the match as she had six digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matchups.

Brainerd has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's still a better percentage than their 6-21 record this season. As for Monticello, their record is now 20-9.

Brainerd does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monticello, they will host Alexandria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
