Basketball Game Preview: Princeton Tigers vs. Tecumseh Braves

Two dominant guards in Ailie Taylor and Katelyn Marx are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Princeton Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Tecumseh Braves at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Princeton will be strutting in after a victory while Tecumseh will be coming in after a defeat.

Princeton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 60-32 win over Pike Central. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted since December 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, Tecumseh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by North Posey and fell 76-46.

Princeton will need focus on slowing down Marx, one of several Tecumseh players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points and three steals. Marx is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Roxy Heichelbech, who put up 16 points.

Princeton's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Tecumseh, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Princeton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Tecumseh when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 64-58 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tecumseh's Jenna Donohoo, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points and six assists. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Princeton to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
