Softball Recap: Lyon County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lyon County entered their tilt with Crittenden County on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 13-4 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lyons have posted against the Rockets since May 9, 2022.

Lilly Perry made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ava Prow was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Moore, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Lyon County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lyon County's record is now 11-13-1. As for Crittenden County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyon County will take on Daviess County at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Crittenden County, they will challenge Murray at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
