Basketball Recap: Jimmy Huntington Drops Season-High Score on Nunamiut

Jimmy Huntington scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 86-79 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nunamiut Amaguq. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (67), the Hustlers still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, Jimmy Huntington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makais Starr went 11-for-19 on his way to 27 points along with five assists and five boards. That was a full 34.2% of Jimmy Huntington's points, marking the third time in a row Starr has posted more than a third of the team's points. Owen Roberts was another key player, putting up 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Jimmy Huntington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Nunamiut's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexander Galloso, who put up 22 points along with eight boards and six steals. Galloso is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Gordon, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten steals.

Jimmy Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Nunamiut, their record is now 8-5.
