Softball Recap: West Davidson Comes Up Short

If West Davidson was riding high fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Wheatmore last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The West Davidson Dragons fell just short of the Ledford Panthers by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Dragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hannah Rollins spent all 11 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Gracie Michael was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

West Davidson now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Ledford, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Davidson will challenge Wheatmore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ledford, they will square off against Northern Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
