Baseball Recap: Hannibal Falls to Seckman in First Game of Season

Hannibal had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Seckman Jaguars by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Azariah Tucker was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Hannibal saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Waylon Anders, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Those two hits gave Anders a new career-high.

Hannibal and Seckman will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Hannibal is set to square off against their familiar foe Warrenton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Seckman will take on rival Fox at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
