Basketball Game Preview: Brewster Bears vs. Liberty Lancers

The Brewster Bears and the Liberty Lancers will face off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brewster is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Mabton. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Mount Vernon Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Liberty proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 45-39 W over the Hurricanes. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but the Lancers were the better team in the second half.

Brewster's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Liberty, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Everything went Brewster's way against Liberty when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Brewster made off with a 65-42 victory. Will Brewster repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
