Baseball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Tippecanoe Valley Vikings

The Jimtown Jimmies will head out on the road to face off against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jimtown's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Tippecanoe Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Jimtown's win against NorthWood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jimmies skirted past the Panthers 4-3. The Jimmies haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jimtown's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Dutton, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Tippecanoe Valley was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Culver Academies, falling 18-2. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jimtown's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Jimtown's way against Tippecanoe Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Jimtown made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jimmies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
