Football Recap: Thomasville Bulldogs vs. Worth County Rams
Thomasville fought the good fight in their overtime game against Worth County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Rams. The Bulldogs were up 20 in the second, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nigel Pittman, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two TDs.
Even if they lost, Thomasville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Da'Marion Florence, Tremayne Samuel, and Isaiah Palacios, who each picked up one sack apiece. Aj Hill, Jr. got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Kaden Chester produced another solid effort rushing for 65 yards and five touchdowns for Worth County. Those five rushing touchdowns gave Chester a new career-high. Worth County also got help from Jayden Farley, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Thomasville's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Worth County, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
