Softball Recap: Colbert County Wins Going Away Against Sheffield

Colbert County got themselves on the board against Sheffield on Tuesday, but Sheffield never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 15-0. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Makayli Davis and Harmonie McClain did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while McClain scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most RBI Davis has posted since back in March. Ella Jeffreys also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Colbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .733. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Colbert County back to even at 8-8-1. As for Sheffield, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colbert County will head out to challenge Colbert Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheffield, they will take on Mars Hill Bible at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
