Bellmont had lost six games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Huntington North Vikings. Considering the Braves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

As for Huntington North, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

For Huntington North's part, Anna Kalhoefer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Kalhoefer's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Richardson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Looking ahead, Bellmont will host New Haven at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Huntington North, they will head out on the road to take on Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Giants have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
