Recap: Montrose Red Hawks vs. Eagle Valley Devils

The Montrose Red Hawks won the last time they faced the Eagle Valley Devils, and things went their way on Saturday too. Montrose took down Eagle Valley 50-35.

It was another big night for Kaleb Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Cooper Ross was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.

Eagle Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Fontana, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Pena, who scored four points along with three steals.

Montrose's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Eagle Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montrose will challenge Fruita Monument at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fruita Monument will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Eagle Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Battle Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Battle Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Eagle Valley is ranked 105th).
