Baseball Game Preview: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Carl Albert Titans

Guthrie is 1-9 against Carl Albert since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bluejays will host the Titans at 5:00 p.m. Guthrie will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Guthrie turned things around against Western Heights on Saturday. They blew past the Jets 19-5. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Carl Albert beat MacArthur 11-7 on Friday. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Carl Albert got a massive performance out of Declan Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Murphy has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Boston Holland, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.

Carl Albert hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Carl Albert's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Guthrie, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Guthrie suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Carl Albert in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bluejays avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
