Basketball Recap: Mineral Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mineral Ridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past the Western Reserve Blue Devils with a 55-50 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-39 back in December of 2024.

Mineral Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Gilbert out in front who posted 15 points and five assists. Sullivan Sandy was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Mineral Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Western Reserve, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mineral Ridge will challenge Jackson-Milton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mineral Ridge has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matchups. As for Western Reserve, they will square off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
