Volleyball Preview: Lovett Lions vs. Therrell Panthers
The Lovett Lions will stay at home for another game and welcome the Therrell Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Lovett didn't have quite enough to beat Westlake and fell 2-1.
Lovett actually scored more points across those three sets (62-55), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 13-25, 17-15.
Despite the loss, Lovett saw an underclassman step up: Margaux Godfrey had nine digs. Godfrey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had six or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Therrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Coretta Scott King YWLA.
After all that action, the final score was 25-0, 25-12.
Lovett's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Therrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
