South Columbus took a 27-point loss the last time they faced off against Red Springs, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Stallions pulled ahead with a 14-13 photo finish over the Red Devils on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stallions.

Despite the loss, Red Springs still got an impressive performance from Chase Boone, who threw for 241 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 62 yards.

South Columbus now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Red Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Columbus will welcome South Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.14 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Red Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Bladen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
