Softball Game Preview: Tri-West Hendricks Bruins vs. Pike Red Devils

The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins will square off against the Pike Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Center Grove hit Tri-West Hendricks with a seven-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bruins took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Bruins have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Emma Charles made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Averi Lance also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Meanwhile, Pike was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Christel House, falling 15-4.

Lilianna Richardson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayia Fleming, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Tri-West Hendricks' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Pike, their loss dropped their record down to 0-22.
