Baseball Game Preview: Crookston Pirates vs. East Grand Forks Green Wave

Crookston hasn't had much luck against East Grand Forks recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pirates will look to defend their home field against the Green Wave at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Crookston lost 16-6 to Fosston on Friday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, East Grand Forks has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.31 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Bemidji, falling 15-7. The Green Wave have struggled against the Lumberjacks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Cole Schmiedeberg made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Nowacki, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

East Grand Forks' loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Crookston, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
