Basketball Recap: UR Academy Takes a Loss

UR Academy lost against NorthPoint Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The UR Academy Lions lost to the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks at home by a 78-62 margin.

Despite the loss, UR Academy still got an impressive performance from Jordan Miller, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Gabriel Thompson was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, UR Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

NorthPoint Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Alvis out in front who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Enriquez, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points along with seven boards and three steals.

UR Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

UR Academy will head out to face off against The Fletcher School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, they will square off against Arborbrook Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. NorthPoint Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
