Softball Recap: Terrebonne Takes a Loss

Terrebonne fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Ascension Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Ascension Christian by a score of 21-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ascension Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 back in February.

Terrebonne got a massive performance out of ELLA DUPRE, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. DUPRE also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was JA'LISE STEWART, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Terrebonne has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-22 record this season. As for Ascension Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10-1.

Terrebonne has already played their next game (against South Lafourche), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ascension Christian, they will square off against Northwood on Saturday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.93 runs per game on average), something Ascension Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
