Amory was forced to take a big defeat against Mooreville on Monday, they got the better of them on Thursday. The Panthers never let the Troopers get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Amory's record is now 14-7. As for Mooreville, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 15-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amory will square off against New Albany at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 4, the Bulldogs 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mooreville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Shannon at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in the Troopers' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Red Raiders have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
