Baseball Game Preview: Truman Patriots vs. Blue Springs South Jaguars

Truman is 0-10 against Blue Springs South since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. Truman will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Truman came up short against Oak Park on Thursday, falling 16-9. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly seven runs.

Anthony Manfredi and Cole Pleacher stepped up to the plate in a big way. Manfredi scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Pleacher scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Devin Ottens also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Springs South). They put the hurt on Oak Park with a sharp 12-4 victory on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their one-run performance the game before.

Truman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Blue Springs South, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
