Soccer Game Preview: Elk Grove vs. Fremd

Elk Grove is 1-8 against Fremd since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Grenadiers will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:45 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Elk Grove took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Payton College Prep get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Elk Grove were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Fremd strolled into their game on Wednesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Wheeling. Give Fremd's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Wheeling from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Amaia Midy led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Fremd's win bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Elk Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
