Baseball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Victorious

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Ambassadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Joseph Petry made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Stafford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Noah Brooks, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Norfolk Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
