Basketball Game Preview: Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls vs. New Waverly Bulldogs

Anderson-Shiro hasn't had much luck against New Waverly recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the New Waverly Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Anderson-Shiro is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost to Onalaska on the road by a 81-65 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), the Fighting Owls still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, New Waverly came up short against Trinity on Wednesday and fell 55-43. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anderson-Shiro's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for New Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Anderson-Shiro couldn't quite finish off New Waverly in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 42-39. Can Anderson-Shiro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
