Basketball Recap: Capital Takes a Loss

Capital lost against Santa Fe back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Capital Jaguars were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to the Santa Fe Demons. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Demons are ranked ninth).

Capital dropped their record down to 8-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Santa Fe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capital will square off against Sandia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Fe, they will take on Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
