Preview: Organ Mountain Knights vs. Centennial Hawks

Organ Mountain is on a five-game streak of home wins, while the Hawks are on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Organ Mountain Knights will take on the Centennial Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

In what's become a running theme this season, Organ Mountain gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Las Cruces with a sharp 72-47 win. With Organ Mountain ahead 46-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Emmitt McDaniel and Brandon Kehres were among the main playmakers for Organ Mountain as the former scored 15 points along with six steals and the latter scored 22 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that McDaniel scored 15 or more points. Lenny Washington was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Centennial didn't have too much trouble with the Panthers at home on Tuesday as they won 67-52.

Organ Mountain's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Organ Mountain came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 54-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Centennial's Michael Bruder, who scored 15 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Organ Mountain to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
