Softball Game Preview: Wisconsin Dells Chiefs vs. Wautoma Hornets

The Wisconsin Dells Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Wautoma Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wisconsin Dells has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wisconsin Dells was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Westfield Area, sneaking past 12-11. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chiefs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Wautoma fell victim to Adams-Friendship and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Green Devils. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Green Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Wisconsin Dells' win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.8 runs this season. As for Wautoma, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
